Trapper
Gender: Gelding
Age: 7 Yrs.
Size: 17 Hands
Color: Dark Bay
Breed: Standardbred
Talents: Driving and Riding
Trapper is one of the
nicest driving horses anyone could wish for. He is steady as an oak, and
takes his job seriously. Barking dogs, clanking machinery, railroad
bridges, traffic, bicycles and lumbering trucks are of no interest to
Trapper when he is taking his “people” out for a ride. He has begun saddle
training, and is taking it in stride like a pro. Trapper can be a little
stand-offish until he decides you are his friend, but once he warms up to
you, he is all yours. He is quite pretty and extremely well mannered.

Scout
Gender: Gelding
Age: 10 yrs
Color: Bay / 4 white socks /
white face
Breed: Pony / unknown
Size: 13 hands
Talents: Green broke for
driving and riding
Scout is a
calm, sweet, kind pony, large enough for a small adult to ride. He is well
mannered, and has begun driving and riding training. He has a ton of common
sense, and is not at all spooky. He seems to delight in learning new
things. Scout has a tendency to get fat, and needs to be kept in a dry lot
on hay or, if on pasture, must wear a grazing muzzle. Otherwise, he has no
special needs. We will
soon be putting additional training time on Scout, and he will be ready for
a forever home very soon. If you are interested in a smaller equine friend
for pleasure driving or for a child’s mount, this guy deserves a look!

Prairie GiGi
Gender: Spayed Mare
Age: 4 yrs
Breed: Standardbred
Size: 15 Hands
Color: Roan
Talents: Drives
GiGi is a
delightful mare who is well mannered and likes attention. She gets along
well with other horses. GiGi is harness trained, and will soon begin saddle
training. She is extremely athletic, and is going to make someone a
wonderful saddle and/or driving horse. She loves attention, and seems to be
looking for someone to be her very own person! GiGi comes running to the
gate as soon as she sees us, and fairly begs to be haltered and brought
out. She is totally sound, and would excel at endurance riding or driving.

Ernest Ho
ADOPTED
Gender: Gelding
Age: 8 yrs
Breed: Standardbred
Size: 16 Hands
Color: Bay
Talents: Rides and Drives
Ernie is
about the sweetest horse you ever have seen, and has excellent manners. He
loves people and loves attention. He has had 60 days of trail training last
summer, and will be ready to hit the trails with his adopter this spring.
He has a nice smooth walk that covers the ground easily and will do a
running walk for a rider
who knows how to ask for it. He is very curious about new things, and might
like to stop and ask about them, but will move right on past as soon as his
rider tells him to. Ernie can be a bit dominant in a herd, but is always
a gentleman in hand or under saddle. Ernie is a horse who is just going
to get better and better as the years go by. If you are looking for a
forever friend to share trail riding experiences or pleasure driving, a
friend who will repay your affection ten-fold with devotion, Ernie might
just be the horse for you!

Elliot
Gender: Gelding
Age: 12 Yrs.
Size: 14 Hands
Color: Dark Bay
Breed: Grade
Here's the good news: Elliot
is a veteran trail horse and has even ridden in the mountains of Colorado.
He is up to date on Coggins, and all vaccines. Stands great for the farrier,
loads easily. He is quiet and good natured and likes people. He is currently
being ridden several times per week on trails. He neck reins and direct
reins and is currently being ridden in a rope halter/hackamore.
The bad news: Elliot is insulin resistant and needs to be kept on a dry lot.
He has had laminitis and foundered twice. With good vet and farrier care he
has come through both episodes very well and is completely sound although on
very rough terrain he will need to wear his boots. He cannot have grain or
sugary treats and absolutely no grass.
